Anyways: this one is wearing a colorful dress with a genuine, authentic “dessin provencale”. And a genuine straw hat, that protects her from severe sun burn that can easily hit you at the Côte d’Azur. A sun screen factor 50 would be appropriate.

Hortence wears a cotton dress and cotton trousers, a knicker and she comes with a crocheted straw hat.

General information

Her head is carefully sculpted from wool. The stuffing of the body and limbs is from wool. The legs are disc jointed, so she can sit as well. The arms are stitch jointed so they hang along the body in a natural way and can be moved around freely and makes dressing and undressing easy.  Her 'skin' is made of cotton interlock. Her wig is made of wefted mohair crocheted into a cap.

You may have to help a bit for your doll to find the right balance. The hips are jointed, so from this point you can bend the body slightly, while holding the legs with the feet to the ground, and maybe replacing a leg/ foot at the same time. Stretching the feet a bit sometimes also may help.

Hortence is a one-of-a-kind handcrafted doll, made of all-natural materials. She is a collectible but can also be used as a play doll (not for the very young).
