Sonia is a “looker”. When she takes a stroll through the neighborhood she really dresses for the street. Then she likes to show off with her smart, orange coat manufactured (by me!) from fine woolen cloth.It has a spring green lining, a lapel and slit pockets. The felted hat with the colored dots is also of my own design and making. The Mary Janes at her feet and the stockings and even the knickers you can’t see (or seldom see) are chosen in colors that complete the palette. So, she makes a beautiful picture, considering her distinct hair color.

The soft woolen knitted dress has a top down closure with heart shaped buttons. And of course, she comes with the coat, the felted hat, knickers and the Mary Jane shoes as mentioned above.

General information

Her head is carefully sculpted from wool. The stuffing of the body and limbs is from wool. The legs are disc jointed, so she can sit as well. The arms are stitch jointed so they hang along the body in a natural way and can be moved around freely and makes dressing and undressing easy.  Her 'skin' is made of cotton interlock. Her wig is made of wefted mohair crochet into a cap.

You may have to help a bit for your doll to find the right balance. The hips are jointed, so from this point you can bend the body slightly, while holding the legs with the feet to the ground, and maybe replacing a leg/ foot at the same time. Stretching the feet a bit sometimes also may help.

Sonia is a one-of-a-kind handcrafted doll, made of all-natural materials. She is a collectible but can also be used as a play doll (not for the very young).
